These processors are based on AMD’s 5nm Zen 4 architecture. They support PCIe 5.0 lanes and support overclocking for higher speeds.

The PRO  7000 WX series can have up to 96 cores and 192 processing threads, making them particularly powerful for workstations. The series can support up to 384MB of a type of  L3 cache, a type of fast-access memory. It supports 2 terabytes of the new DDR5 memory across eight channels and up to 128 PCIe 5.0 lanes.

The PRO 7000 WX series is aimed at professionals and businesses that need high performance, reliability, security, and scalability. The processors are expected to excel in professional tasks and heavy multitasking, making them ideal for jobs like simulations, designing, rendering visuals, or compiling software.

The Threadripper 7000 series marks AMD’s re-entry into the high-end desktop (HEDT) space, where they haven’t released a new product since 2020.

It can have up to 64 cores and 128 threads. They can support up to 48 PCIe 5.0 lanes, providing significant data transfer speeds and connectivity options. This processor series has a quad-channel DDR5 memory controller which means it can handle four data channels simultaneously. It can handle up to 1 terabyte of memory.

It is aimed at creative professionals and enthusiasts. The Ryzen Threadripper 7980X processor in this series offers optimal computing power for high-end desktop users.

Ryzen Threadripper Pro 7000 WX-Series and the Ryzen Threadripper 7000 Series have AMD’s WRX90 and TRX50 chipsets respectively.
